day1 activity 3 Weird and Wonderful

Hi guys,

today I am doing another summer learning journey and this was a math task so we had to imagine that it was our birthday and for your birthday present you got a cactus and you had to give it 3ml of water  everyday and then over a year how much millelitires will you need over a year?here is my ansewr and how I got it:

so I calculated 3mllelitires by 365 and then I got 1095 milleliters so my answer was 1095 milleliters.

blog you later bie!!

  1. Kia ora Fatima,

Well done on competing another Summer Learning Journey (SLJ) activity. It is awesome to see that you have made it through to week 2's activities. I haven't seen you jump online for the last 5 days, so I am hoping to see you online soon. I hope!

You're absolutely right that the cactus would need 1095 mls of water in a year to survive. It really isn't very much, is it? I did a bit of research myself, and due to the African desert often having one downpour of rain every few weeks, a cactus soaks up the water and stores it until the next downpour. This means it can feed itself the 3ml of water every day. What an intelligent plant that is.

Can you explain to me the steps it took you to work out 3 x 365?

I cannot wait to read your response and see more activities from you soon.

    Ka kite,
    Megan :)
