day 4 activity 1 Scaling New Heights

kiora bloggers,

Today the summer learning journey task was to write five questions about Edmund Hillary the first person who climbed Mt Everest as you are interviewing him here are my questions:

1. How long did it take him to learn how to climb a mountain?

2. Did he like climbing the mountain?

3. How much days did it take him to climb the mountain?

4. How old was he when he climbed the mountain?

5. How did he survive up the mountain?

blog you later bie. do you have any questions for him?

  1. Kia ora Fatima,

My name is Rachel and I am working with the Summer Learning Journey programme this year. It is great to see that you have completed so many activities already. Wow! I particularly enjoyed reading this post because I have always admired Sir Edmund Hillary. I think that he is very brave and quite courageous to have completed a really dangerous mission and climbed to the top (summited) Mt Everest.

Like you, I would also like to ask him how many days it took to climb to the very top. I suspect that it would have taken weeks and weeks but I'm not entirely sure. Unfortunately, Sir Hillary died years ago so we are unable to ask him. If I had the chance, however, I would also ask him what inspired him to make the climb. I wonder if he had a role model that he looked up to and who encouraged him to give it a try. If you had the chance, would you like to try and climb Mt Everest?

I'm looking forward to reading your other posts! Keep up the great work with the Summer Learning Journey programme.

    Cheers,
    Rachel
